Join the first part of Healthy Conversations series – bringing together ostomates, nurses and caregivers. While getting an ostomy can solve many of the physical challenges that made an ostomate sick, it does not instantly heal all the mental anguish in this journey. Hear from expert speakers such as Dr Gilbert Fan and Sister Angela Liew on practical tips to manage mental health as ostomates. Together we have conversations that matter!

For the next segment of the workout video series, we are pleased to bring you 3 yoga videos that are suitable for ostomates.
Starting off in this video is Yin Yoga, a very slow form of yoga, low-impact and suitable for patients who are recovering from surgeries.
This is part of an exciting 12 video series in collaboration with ColoplastSG to promote active lifestyle and increase enjoyment of life.
*Remember to check with your doctor before starting a new exercise program, especially if you have any concerns about your fitness, haven’t exercised for a long time, have chronic health problems, such as heart disease, diabetes or arthritis.
In our next Patient and Healthcare Education Series, our speakers will share their insights on maintaining a healthy lifestyle with the right ostomy appliance-change routine and the types of exercises that are suitable for ostomates.
While it’s important to have a healthy body and healthy mind, we should not neglect our peristomal skin health. By taking care of your stoma with a good change routine and doing suitable exercises, there is a good chance you can reduce some of the problems you might otherwise have had in relation to leakage.
